The power plant Environmental Specialist/Coordinator position responsible for ensuring compliance with the mandates of pertinent environmental regulations and the disposition of coal combustion products. Implements, supports, and coordinates environmental protection and compliance activities for assigned power plant.
Assists with activities to place, monitor quality, and report on coal combustion products (CCP's).
Performs routine monitoring, audits and provides guidance of station compliance for all air, water, and solid waste requirements.
Monitors plant processes for environmental compliance and seeks out ways for process improvement. Acts on direction of station manager or other plant personnel to implement and coordinate assignments related to environmental activities.
Acts as a backup to positions presently responsible for day to day environmental tasks in air, water, hazardous waste, etc.
Bachelor's degree in environmental science, applied science, or related technical discipline required. Masters level degree preferred. Zero to three (3) years of professional environmental regulatory and/or technical experience.
Must possess knowledge of environmental theories, principles, and practices. Knowledge of power plant operations/equipment is preferred. Excellent interpersonal skills and verbal/written communication skills. Must be comfortable with communicating with all stakeholder groups. Ability to use formal training in practical application to work assignments. Must be able to process data and plant conditions to assess environmental performance, opportunities for improvement, etc.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
