GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
We are seeking a mid-level to senior level Controls Engineer to join the Division Controls Group in the Corning Glass Technology division, to support the Process Groups, as the Controls System Design Engineer.
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
In this role, you will focus on the motion/motor control systems, and occasionally will need to work on the process environment/enclosure control systems. The Division Controls Group works on new development, migration of technology, and provides third level support to each production facilities.
EDUCATION:
We require a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering
Master of Science in Electrical or Control Systems Engineering is a plus.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
We need you to have at least 5+ years of experience in the design of controls and motion systems.
We are looking forward to hearing about your Project Leadership experience including; specification, scope, budget, schedule, and risk management.
You will lead the project from initial conception to closure.
Experience/knowledge with Modern Drive System Design (architecture and detailed level design) including PowerFlex VFD and Kinetix Servo, Allen Bradley ControlLogix, 480vac 3-phase electrical systems, Transformer sizing, Circuit Protection, HVAC, Air Handler Units, Instrumentation, and an understanding of National Electric Code and other code compliance.
Allen Bradley: PLC, VFD, Panelview, and Servo equipment.
Rockwell Automation software: RS Studio Logix & View
Strong knowledge of kinematics, dynamics, and process controls.
CAD: AutoCad, Solidworks. Ability to understand and draft electrical schematics.
Knowledge of Electrical Standards (NEC) and Safety Standards (NFPA)
Sizing circuit protection, motors, transformers.
DAY TO DAY RESPONSIBILITIES:
We provide Motor Control System and Process Enclosure System Designs to support needs of the Process organization, for new installation and upgrades to existing systems.
Obtain system requirements from Process Group and develop the design requirements and scope of work.
Thoroughly document all designs/developments to ensure fast and efficient technology transfer to Display Technologies facilities, such as Functional Specifications, Test Plans, Experiment Plans, Project Scope, etc.
We work within team environment and need you to have strong communication skills
This is a functional position that requires strong technical curiosity, strong leadership skills, and the ability handle multiple projects at the same time.
TRAVEL:
We anticipate frequent travel (up to 50%)
These trips would be between 1 to 4 weeks in duration.
CGT has facilities in US, Japan, Taiwan, China, and Korea. You will be providing onsite project support (install/checkout/startup), project meetings, site survey, training, and Factory Acceptance Testing.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
