Corning's Display Technologies segment manufactures glass substrates for active matrix liquid crystal displays ("LCDs") that are used primarily in LCD televisions, notebook computers and flat panel desktop monitors.

The employment process for all Production and Maintenance positions at Corning Incorporated in the Harrodsburg Facility begins once you attach your resume and submit a completed application.   The next step in the process will be a series of tests and interviews conducted by Corning Incorporated employees.  Upon successful completion of all of the above, the next step will be background checks and a medical exam, to include a physical assessment and a drug test.

Qualified candidates are included in a pool for Instrument Electrician positions and will be called upon as openings occur in our businesses.

Corning Incorporated interviews applicants for self-managed teams and we are looking for individuals that possess a strong work ethic and substantial interpersonal and team participation skills.

Our new employees will go through a 90 day probationary period.  Production and Maintenance employees are represented by USW Local 1016T.

Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift a minimum of 80 pounds on a regular basis throughout the day.


  • Basic Demonstration of Skills is required.

  • Qualified candidates must be at least 18 years of age

  • Must possess a High School Diploma or GED.

  • Carded Instrument Electrician status or equivalent.

Transportation: Must supply own transportation.  No relocation assistance.

Work Hours: Varies by plant; probably will be rotating shifts on a weekly basis.  Working holidays and weekends are a must.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
